About Browns

The colour brown is a recessive or dilution of black and closely

related to it.

Like all recessives, brown bred to brown breeds true.

Two browns when mated will produce an entire litter of browns.

Brown puppies should be born dark brown as they will go lighter

as they grow older.

No colour in poodles has as many charming colour variations.

These range from an almost black brown to a pale café-au-lait.

Beautiful reddish chestnut brown is brilliant, as is the shade

which is almost liver colour. Walnut is a darker shade of brown.

Eyes should be as dark as possible, with dark brown eye rims,

dark brown lips and dark brown nose.

Our goal is to produce browns which stay a recognisable brown

and do not fade out.

Below are photo's of various shades of brown.
